PE “Electric Power Industry of Serbia“, the City of Novi Sad, “ENERGIJA NOVI SAD” JSC and Consortium of Bidders consisting of “Metka” from Greece, “Grafobal Group Energy” (GGE) from Slovakia and “Optima energy” from Russia, signed at the City Hall in Novi Sad the Protocol on Initiation of Negotiations for Conclusion of Joint Venture Agreement today. Protocol was signed by Dragomir Marković, General Manager of PE EPS, Igor Pavličić, Mayor of Novi Sad, Slobodanka Krčevinac, President of the Management Board of ENS JSC and Aris Asavidis, representative of the Consortium of Bidders. This Protocol refers to the project that includes reconstruction of the existing and/or construction of modern unit for cogeneration of thermoelectric power and heat energy in gas-steam cycle CHPP “Novi Sad“.
Bojan Pajtić, PhD., President of the Government of AP Vojvodina, Prof. Petar Škundrić, PhD., the Energy and Infrastructure Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Aca Marković, PhD., President of the Management Board of EPS, Zoran Manasijević, Deputy General Manager of EPS for Technical System, Miloš Saramandić, Director of CHPP “Panonske“, Tihomir Simić, PhD., Director of “Elektrovojvodina“ as well as numerous representatives of the Government of AP Vojvodina, Novi Sad and the media were present at the signing of the Protocol.
- This project is aiming at long term economically and environmentally sustainable energy supply in wider area of the City of Novi Sad. Installed electric capacity of CHPP Novi Sad shall be around 400 MW, while the thermal capacity of at least 300 MW shall be used for heating of more than 80,000 households and industrial consumers in Novi Sad- stated Dragomir Marković, General Manager of EPS. –The amount of investment is around EUR 320 million and construction period around two years. It is important to mention that the new gas-steam cycle shall be the first new larger capacity in our electric energy system. That shall lower risk of shortage of electricity in the following years, until we build large thermal units “Kolubara B” and TENT B3.
Igor Pavličić, Mayor of Novi Sad, reminded that the modernization and construction of the new unit CHPP “Novi Sad” lasts for a long time, because everything has stopped due to economic crisis. He pointed out that he is satisfied because this investment shall provide more cheap and secure supply and heating for the citizens of Novi Sad, and thus also contribute to better life for the citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
On behalf of the representatives of the Consortium of Bidders Roland Tot said that they are aware of the significance of the Project but also of the great responsibility brought by this investment.
Memorandum on Cooperation of Oil Industry of Serbia and representatives of Consortium of Bidders has also been signed in the City Hall today.
