Public Enterprise “Electric Power Industry of Serbia” was formed by the Decision of the Government of Serbia which became effective on 1 July,2005. The basic task of the company is meeting all the electric power requirements of the economy and inhabitants of the Republic of Serbia.
PE EPS is a vertically integrated company that has founded 11 subsidiaries and three public enterprises on Kosovo and Metohija. As of June 1999, the enterprise cannot manage its facilities at Kosovo and Metohija.
EPS activities are electric power generation, electric power distribution and distribution system management, electric power trade, coal production, processing and transport, steam and hot water production in combined heating processes, water power utilization and services in river and lake traffic, wholesale trade in fuel and similar products. EPS operations are also research and development, design, construction and maintenance of energy and mining plants, design, construction and operation of telecommunication facilities and engineering.
According to ownership structure EPS is 100% owned by the Republic of Serbia.
The enterprise management consist of the Managing Board, Supervisory Board, General Manager – all appointed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Apart from General Manager and Chairman of the Managing Board, the management consists of deputies and assistant manager for technical system, managers of common functions for EPS and executive managers.
