Energy Sector of the Republic of Serbia
By signing of the Treaty on Establishing Energy Community of South East Europe, the countries of South East Europe and the European Union have established the Energy Community to create a stable regulatory and market framework in the South East Europe. In accordance with the obligations arising from this Treaty, the legal framework is harmonized and other preconditions for the implementation of regulations on energy, environmental protection, competition and the strengthening of the electric energy market are being provided.
The planning of activity development in the energy system is based on the energy policy guidelines and the planning of energy development of the Republic of Serbia is in accordance with Energy Law.
The energy policy is thoroughly elaborated and implemented by the Energy Development Strategy of the Republic of Serbia, Program for the Strategy Implementation and the Energy Balance of the Republic of Serbia.
