Within
the City of Loznica region, from Gornje Nedeljice to Grnčara, 25 km of overhead
transmission lines, power cable and every wooden pole will have been replaced
by Christmas, thus solving the long-standing problem with power supply in this
area - said Mr. Milorad Grčić, Acting Director of Electric Power Industry of Serbia.
Mr.
Grčić emphasized that this was a result of the conversation between the
President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, and local
population, held on Saturday, December 4th, 2021.
- Two
days ago, President Vučić visited Loznica's villages and talked to
the people who complained that electricity supply was unstable and that there
were frequent cut offs, making their lives hard and difficult for them to
perform everyday activities. Our obligation was to solve this problem – said
Mr. Grčić to reporters after visiting Gornje Nedeljice Village,
where works on the replacement of overhead transmission lines and wooden poles
are ongoing.
He
explained that the major transmission network was completed in the City of
Loznica region, since the company Elektromreža Srbije built 110 kV transformer
station and rehabilitated all overhead transmission lines, and now only
low-voltage grid is left to be completed.
- In
the past five years, Electric Power Industry of Serbia, Elektromreža
Srbije and Elektrodistribucija Srbije, i.e. the State, invested about RSD 3.5 billion
in the power transmission system of the City of Loznica region. We have now decided
to complete until Christmas all overhead transmission lines and replace all
wooden poles, of which there are few. We think that January 7th is a
reasonable date for the completion of works, and from then on, the region will
have no problem with electricity – said Mr. Grčić.
He
added that Elektrodistribucija Srbije would immediately begin the replacement
of 25 km overhead transmission line which is the main problem, causing all
others.
Along
with Mr. Grčić, Ms. Jelena Matejić, Director of Elektromreža
Srbije, Mr. Bojan Atlagić, Acting Director of Elektrodistribucija Srbije and
Mr. Vidoje Petrović, Mayor of Loznica, visited Gornje Nedeljice Village.
