Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) and the Municipality of
Obrenovac have formalized a partnership to support the construction of a new
school facility for children with developmental disabilities. The agreement,
valued at 40 million dinars, was signed today by Dušan Živković, General Manager
of EPS, and Miloš Peković, President of the Municipality of Obrenovac.
The funds will be directed toward building a dedicated
facility for the ‘Ljubomir Aćimović’ Elementary School, which has operated for
25 years without its own premises. Currently, 72 students attend classes under
challenging conditions within another school’s building. The new facility will
provide appropriate learning and working conditions for both students and
staff, with the potential to expand enrolment in the future.
- The strength of EPS is not measured solely in
megawatts and electricity production, but in the quality of life we help
create,” said Živković. “Our two largest thermal power plants operate in
Obrenovac, and for decades, EPS has been a committed partner to the community,
supporting initiatives in education, science, sports, healthcare, and
environmental protection. Supporting the construction of the ‘Ljubomir
Aćimović’ school was never in question—it’s a decision we are proud of.
Municipal President Miloš Peković emphasized the
importance of EPS’ contribution, noting that the new school building will
significantly improve conditions for both students and educators.
- The children attending ‘Ljubomir Aćimović’ need and
deserve our full support. We must work together to ensure they have the best
possible environment for learning and development,” Peković stated. “EPS’
involvement is not only crucial — it sets an example for other socially
responsible companies and institutions.
