Dušan Živković, the General Director of “Elektroprivreda Srbije“ and Ivan Janković, the Deputy Minister of Mining and Energy for Geology and Mining, visited the assembly works of the mining equipment for the Kolubara mines today.
– The assembly follows the agreed time schedule and the plan is to start testing the equipment, by powering it up, successively, at the end of this year and the beginning of next year, with the necessary preparations at the mines, to create the conditions so that the machines, one by one, can be transported to their final position at the open pit mine “Radljevo” as of February, – said Živković.
At the erection yard in Kalenić, where the equipment for “Radljevo” is being assembled, works on the spreader have advanced the most. Regarding the excavator, the bucket wheel boom has been lifted, and by the end of November, it is expected that the structure of the second excavator will also be completed, which will provide the final configuration of all the machines at this site. A significant portion of the equipment has also arrived at the erection yard in Vreoci, thereby fulfilling the conditions for works to continue according to the plan.
– As before, the relevant ministry continues to support actively investment projects of EPS. Based on current activities, we believe that mining machinery will be at the open pit mine Field “E” in the second half of 2026, and thus engaged in the production of overburden and coal - Janković emphasized.
At the two erection yards in MB “Kolubara”, four ECS systems (bucket wheel excavator - conveyor - spreader) are being prepared simultaneously - two for Field “E” and two for the mine “Radljevo”, which will be the future backbone of the production of Kolubara lignite.
