The 103rd session of the Serbia-Romania Joint Commission for Djerdap has begun

The operation of the hydropower systems Djerdap 1 and Djerdap 2, the functioning of ship locks, ice protection, as well as the results of previous and future rehabilitation plans were the main topics at the beginning of the 103rd session of the Serbia-Romania Joint Commission for Djerdap. For three days, the members of this commission, consisting of Serbian and Romanian teams of experts from Elektroprivreda Srbije, the Romanian Hidroelectrica, as well as experts from the Serbian and Romanian ministries of energy, transport and other institutions, will discuss key areas and agree on further steps for successful cooperation in the coming period. - Serbia and Romania are traditionally friendly countries, we are bound by successful partnership cooperation, and this is a confirmed by the fact that the sessions of the Joint Commission for Djerdap have been held at full capacity for two years. The work of this commission is very important because it resolves all issues related to the operation of Djerdap 1 and 2 - said Milan Aleksić, president of the Serbian part of the Joint Commission and advisor to the Minister of Mining and Energy. Aleksić also pointed out that, in addition to energy, Serbia and Romania have the potential for cooperation for projects in the field of gas, as well as for the project of the Pumped Storage Hydro Power Plant Djerdap 3, which would be built via a partnership between the two countries.
