The last, 20th 66 MW wind turbine of the first windfarm of Elektroprivreda Srbije in Kostolac has been installed. At the same time, all solar panels have been mounted in Petka solar power plant and it is expected to be connected to the grid by the end of May – said Dušan Živković, General Manager of Elektroprivreda Srbije, in the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation Morning Journal. He emphasised that these are two important investment projects that would improve the EPS production portfolio with green energy.

 - Electricity generation and supply of residential and commercial customers are stable, as they were throughout the winter. The reserves of the landfills of thermal power plants are 1.7 million tons of coal, while the reservoirs are at the level of 400 GWh. Our goal in the next month is to increase the reserves at the landfills by 10 percent, and by 20 percent at reservoirs – said Dušan Živković.

EPS CEO highlights that the stable operation of newly built 350 MW unit B3 in Kostolac represents an important contribution to the electricity stability, and that at the moment the complaints are being resolved within the warranty period so that this unit will be a mainstay for the next 30 to 40 years. Živković also explained that intensive efforts are underway to prepare technical documentation and secure financing for the project of Bistrica PSHPP construction, and that preparations for the necessary infrastructure work have already begun.
