EPS Celebrates Energy Efficiency Day with Elementary School Students in Niš

On the occasion of the World Energy Efficiency Day, students of “Miroslav Antić" Elementary School in Niš had the opportunity to learn, in an engaging and interactive way, how electricity is generated, how Elektroprivrede Srbije system operates, what the simplest measures of energy efficiency are, and why responsible energy use matters.

Dejan Andrejević, Head of the Sector for Guaranteed Supply Support in Niš, spoke to the students and explained that energy efficiency means achieving the same results while using less energy.

- LED bulb consumes less electricity than a regular bulb, and when we close the window while the heating is on, the room stays warm without additional energy consumption. Switching off the lights when leaving the room, unplugging chargers once the phones are charged, or switching off the computers and TVs when not in use are small steps that make children true energy heroes - Andrejević said.

The program also introduced students to renewable energy sources and highlighted how responsible energy consumption protects natural resources and environment and supports long‑term sustainability.

As part of the event, pupils presented creative artwork inspired by the theme of energy efficiency, and the program was supported by representatives of the Faculty of Applied Sciences in Niš, as well as the Energy Management Office of the City of Niš.
