Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) has become a member of the Data Center Association of Serbia, marking an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the energy sector and the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector, particularly in the development of digital infrastructure.
“Data centre development is no longer merely an infrastructure issue; it has become one of the key questions for the energy sector, digitalisation, and the future of the AI ecosystem. For EPS, participation in such initiatives provides a better understanding of industry developments — from electricity consumption trends to the direction of technological and investment cycles. Timely positioning and taking an active role in shaping a sustainable, energy-efficient digital environment in Serbia are crucial, especially at a time when AI and data centres are becoming one of the main drivers of growth," said Katarina Andrejević, Executive Director for Information Technology and Digitalisation.
By joining the Data Center Association of Serbia, EPS further strengthens its cooperation with representatives of industry and the technology sector, with the aim of ensuring that the development of power infrastructure keeps pace with the needs of a modern digital society and contributes to the sustainable development of Serbia.
