Accelerating Investments in Renewable Sources

"Elektroprivreda Srbije" has announced a public call for all interested companies and investors for the purchase and joint development of projects in the field of renewable energy sources.

EPS General Manager Dušan Živković emphasizes that the goal is to diversify the portfolio of "Elektroprivreda Srbije" through a transparent and competitive procedure.

- EPS wants to be the driver of energy transition and at the same time preserve the security of supply. We are opening the door to the best projects and partners on the market in order to accelerate investments in renewable sources and create a stable and sustainable energy system for the future. It is particularly important that we can put the existing EPS infrastructure to use for new energy projects and thus accelerate their implementation - said Živković.

The projects are divided into two groups. The first includes solar power plants, wind power plants and hybrid projects with an installed capacity of at least 50 megawatts, connected to the transmission system. For solar and wind projects, battery systems for energy storage are not mandatory, but will be additionally evaluated. For the projects in the first group, EPS will select those that can be purchased through a competitive procedure. The method of submitting bids and deadlines are defined in the documentation available on the portal www.oieakvizicije.eps.rs.

The second group refers to projects that use biomass and municipal, industrial or organic waste for the production of electricity or heat, including plants for the production of energy from waste, biogas and the use of landfill gas, as well as green hydrogen production projects. EPS is ready to offer its existing locations and infrastructure to partners, including the locations of the thermal power plants "Morava" and "Kolubara A", and together with them develop new energy projects. The call for the second group of projects is open for 30 days, after which EPS will define specific models of cooperation and project development in accordance with the expressed interest.

The public call has been published in the daily newspaper "Politika" and on the website of "Elektroprivreda Srbije".
