At the ceremony celebrating Nikola Tesla’s 170th birth anniversary, at the National Theater in Belgrade, Dušan Živković, General Manager of Elektroprivreda Srbije, was awarded with a statuette of Nikola Tesla, the piece of academic sculptor Ljubiša Mančić.
The Tesla Award of the Academy of Sciences was awarded to the head of EPS for his contribution to the establishment of the "Planetary Tesla" award, as part of the project dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the work and heritage of one of the world's greatest scientists and visionaries. This award is a confirmation of the commitment to the values that Nikola Tesla permanently incorporated into the development of energy, science and technological progress through his work.
As part of the ceremony, the poem "Planetary Tesla" was performed, a poetic homage to a man whose work became the common heritage of humanity and an invitation to new generations to understand why his ideas are as relevant today as they were a century ago.
At the ceremony dedicated to Nikola Tesla’s 170th birth anniversary through a combination of art, music and stage expression, tribute was paid to our greatest scientist whose ideas changed the course of world history and laid the foundations of modern technological development.
