Heating plants of "Elektroprivreda Srbije" in the branches of "Thermal Power Plant Nikola Tesla" (TENT) and "Thermal Power Plants Mines Kostolac", which heat Obrenovac, Požarevac and Kostolac, are ready for the beginning of the heating season - said Ivan Gajić, Assistant Executive Director for Coal and Thermal Power Production in the Thermal Power Sector in "Elektroprivreda Srbije".
At the conference "How will we heat next winter," he pointed out that the overhaul of the A1 block in TPP "Kostolac" has recently been completed and is now ready to supply citizens and the economy with thermal energy .
"On the oldest units in the TENT branch, A1 and A2, extended overhaul and works of increased scope have been carried out, in order to prepare the blocks, especially the boiler piping systems as the most critical equipment, for the upcoming heating season," Gajic said at a conference organized by the Energy of the Balkans portal.
According to him, in accordance with the three-year business plan of EPS, overhaul activities in the mining sector have been completed, while the thermal sector is nearing completion. He added that coal stocks amount to 1.85 million tons, and that the goal is to reach 2 million tons by the beginning of winter. In addition, sufficient quantities of fuel oil are also provided. When it comes to the hydro sector, preparations are also coming to an end and all hydro, as well as thermal capacities, will be ready for the winter season.
- When it comes to the hydrological situation, the inflows of the Danube are at a historical minimum, these days it is only 1,200 cubic meters per second and the situation in the hydro sector is extremely difficult. We are overcoming these challenges with the work of the revitalized reversible HPP "Bajina Bašta", which operates at full capacity and supports the entire power system – said Gajić.
He also pointed out that the revitalization of "Vlasina HPPs" has begun and the evaluation of bids for the revitalization of HPP "Bistrica" is underway.
