In the age of electricity, digitalization and artificial intelligence, we need to make decisions regarding the energy future faster and more efficiently, and it is clear that there is no safe energy future without nuclear energy, said Dušan Živkovic, GM of EPS at the opening of the Energy Summit in Trebinje.
- Nowadays, the decisions we make have to be quick, because energy companies find themselves caught between the energy security they must provide and the interest groups that have their own goals in the energy transition, as well as financial institutions that see an opportunity to secure their future through the placement of capital," Živković said.
He reminded that EPS today has 426 MW of new capacity in operation, that customer services have been digitalized, and that the company has become part of the circular economy through the sale of gypsum and ash.
- EPS has launched the largest investment cycle, which primarily refers to the construction of the pumped-storage HPP "Bistrica", a project of regional importance, a large solar power plant, as well as a gas power plant in Niš, but also HPP "Buk Bijela" - said Živković.
