Kostolac Miners achieved record production of coal and overburden in year 2025. Last year shall be recorded in history of ’’Elektroprivreda Srbije’’ as one of the best years of Open Cast Mine ’’Drmno’’ operation.
- Coal production achieved more than 10 million tons, which has been unreachable figure so far. We also achieved record in overburden removal with more than 48 million cubic meters of overburden deposited. Employees at Mining Department of ’’TE-KO Kostolac’’ achieved this success, who work hard and devoted in all weather conditions, during winter, summer, it is never easy to work at Open Cast Mine – says Mr. Momčilo Milić, ’’TE-KO Kostolac’’ Coal Production Manager.
Milić points out that
employees provided their maximum in order to provide stable power generation at
Kostolac Thermal Power Plants and he highlights very good cooperation with
employees of subsidiary companies which have direct participation in production
process.
- Prior to winter
season, we timely completed all planned overhaul activities at all systems.
Reconstruction of the second system was of special significance. It was large
undertaking which provides stable internal disposal site and improves operation
efficiency of our mining machines – says Milić. – Mining machinery is ready, we
introduced weekly and periodic inspections where everything is monitored. It is
not simple to maintain machinery which is even thirty years old. Good news is
that one bandwagen is arriving soon and it shall be of great importance for
further production.
’’TE-KO Kostolac’’ Coal
Production Manager also stated that good production contributed that at
Kostolac Thermal Power Plants coal deposit sites currently there are around 500.000
tons of coal. These amounts are sufficient for 20 days of production in five
Kostolac Thermal Power Units, even in case of delay in Mining production, what
is extremely imporatant in dificult weather conditions.
