The assembly of the second bucket wheel excavator for the opencast mine “Radljevo”
has been completed, system checks are underway and we expect it to be ready for
transport to its operating location on October 15. It will be another important
mining machine in a series that will contribute to the further improvement of
the development of the Kolubara mines and the additional safety of coal
production - said Dušan Živković, General Manager of ’’Elektroprivreda Srbije”,
during a tour of the assembly site at Tamnava.
As Živković pointed out, it is crucial to meet the set deadline, and it
is essential for the contractors and subcontractors to deliver the relevant
documentation to “Kolubara” in a timely manner in order to create the
conditions for uninterrupted transport.
- It is also important to establish a crew for that excavator and to
provide more experienced excavator operators, because it is a new and imposing
mining machine, of great value. In the near future, immediately after the
selection of the crew, the training for working on that excavator should begin
- Živković emphasized.
After visiting the site on Tamnava, on the assembly site in Baroševac,
representatives of EPS, MB “Kolubara” and the Ministry of Mining and Energy
attended the preparations for the transport of a mobile conveyor/spreader (belt
wagon) with a capacity of 4800 m³/h for the First ECS system of Field “E”.
The assembly of this mobile conveyor unit began in August of last year
and is part of a package for the procurement and installation of new mining
equipment for the “Field E” opencast mine, aimed at increasing overburden removal
and coal production at the site.
Representatives of the relevant ministry emphasized that the procurement
of new equipment at “Kolubara” is proceeding according to plan—which is highly
significant for coal production—and that work on this will continue in the
coming period.
The new equipment is very important for the safety and development of
coal production in EPS and “Kolubara” and every machine is very important. The
completed belt wagon will play a big role in the operation of Field “E”,
because it can work as a link between the excavator and the conveyor, but it
can also work as a spreader. According to the plan, it will initially be
connected to the existing equipment, and after the completion of the
installation of the new ECS systems for Field “E”, it will be part of them.
The Ministry of Mining and Energy emphasizes that the challenges
regarding coal production at the MB “Kolubara” from the beginning of the year
have been fully overcome, and that production volume has significantly
increased, thereby achieving the planned result.
