Although major and regular overhauls of thermal
capacities are planned, and electricity consumption is breaking all summer
records, Elektroprivreda Srbije ensures sufficient electricity amounts and a
stable supply of citizens and businesses.
- One
of the PSHPP Bajina Bašta units is back in operation, after a major
overhaul of the inlet and drainage system, revitalization of spherical gates of
both units and rehabilitation of the inclined pipeline of the power plant have
been completed. This means another 300 megawatts online, which will contribute
to Serbia’s energy security at a time of probably an unprecedentedly long heat
wave that has hit our country, Dusan Zivkovic, the general manager of Elektroprivreda
Srbije, said in Bajina Basta.
- One
unit here in Bajina Bašta is online again, which means that along with
additional generation, this will also contribute to the optimization of generation
capacities to secure additional electricity amounts under the most favorable
conditions, Živković said. He added that at the same time, revitalization of
the R1 unit is underway.
- The
revitalization of our only pumped storage hydroelectric power plant began after
42 years of operation and could no longer be postponed. The works on the first unit
will be completed in late November, while next year we are expecting the
revitalization of the second unit - the general manager of EPS said.
