Almost
every second household in Serbia saved electricity in November 2023 and thus
obtained a discount on their bills. About 1.63 million households saved at
least 5% of electricity in comparison to the same month in the previous two
years. Based on the recommendation of the Government of the Republic of Serbia,
Elektroprivreda Srbije has calculated between 20 and 40 percent discount on
consumed electricity to these customers.
Out of 3.34 million
households, which were active customers in November 2021/2022 and 2023, and
were able to reduce consumption, 48.8% were eligible for a November bill
reduction. Out of the total number of households, as many as 20.1% were
entitled to the highest discount of 40% because they reduced consumption by
more than 30%. 4.2% of households realized 35% discount, with 25 to 30% electricity
saving. Savings of 20% to 25% in November compared to November in the previous
two years were achieved by 5.2% of customers. They were granted a 30% discount.
Six percent of households reduced their consumption by 15 to 20 percent and obtained
a 25% discount, while 13.3% consumed 5 to 15 percent less electricity and thus obtained
a 20% discount.
An additional 5% discount for customers
who increased the share of the lower tariff in the monthly calculation by at
least 5% in comparison to the same month in 2022 was obtained by 420,315
customers, which is 13% of the total number of measuring points.
The
most considerable reductions in electricity consumption were recorded in
Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sabac, Valjevo, Loznica, Nis, Smederevo and Kragujevac.
